Knight vs. Samurai
KnightA knight was was a defender of his country and his lord. He had to be willing to serve and protect his lord and even die for him. In return, the lord entitled him to some land and often his own title (Sir).

SamuraiMuch like a European knight, a samurai fought for their country and their people. They were warriors who honoured their emperor and worked for their daimyo. They had to be ready for battle and always willing to commit suicide to keep their honour or die for their daimyo. This was known as seppuku.
